At ReliaQuest, we believe in investing in future generations and equipping students to face the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape, including new capabilities coming to the industry with Agentic AI.
Last week ReliaQuest welcomed over 200 college and high school summer interns – in every position from sales to software to technical operations.
The students will spend the next several weeks learning about the challenges security teams face in the cybersecurity industry, new capabilities within technology to advance security operations with Agentic AI, and the expanding opportunities that exist to build a cybersecurity career. Our goal is not to simply help students build their resume, but to give them hands-on experience and equip them to face the largest technical challenge of our generation.
Interns hit the ground running and are given responsibilities as soon as they start. From threat hunting to communicating directly with customers, ReliaQuest believes in giving interns the opportunity to build their skills and make an immediate impact.

Andrew Sprecher, a recent graduate from Florida State University, completed a sales internship last summer and returned full time on our sales team this June. When asked about his experience in the program, he said, “ReliaQuest invested a lot of time and resources into making sure we were prepared to communicate effectively and show up for the customers. Instead of grabbing coffee for people or paper pushing, we were truly figuring out how GreyMatter could solve problems for the customers we were speaking to.”
ReliaQuest’s investment in its summer internship program is part of its commitment to growing its own leaders and promoting from within, which happens in 80% of the time.
Summer interns from high school or college often return to ReliaQuest after graduation for full-time positions.
Michal Timoszuk completed the ReliaQuest Labs program at the University of South Florida and later returned as a full time GreyMatter Specialist. “Coming out of the ReliaQuest Labs program, I thought I would spend at least my first year or two doing Tier 1 analyst work. But because of the way ReliaQuest is using Agentic AI, I’m able to do much more complex and interesting work right away, instead of spending hours sifting through mostly mundane alerts. I know that I’ll be able to grow in my career much more quickly and make a greater impact for our customers because of the way we’re leveraging AI.”
Every ReliaQuest summer intern, whether in sales or technical roles, learns how to use the GreyMatter technology and how it leverages Agentic AI. Interns are also each assigned a mentor from within the ReliaQuest team to help guide them through the program and gain real-world insights.

Silvia Velasco is a sales intern from Florida State University, returning after completing ReliaQuest’s high school summer program two years ago. “When I was looking into internships for the fall, I knew I wanted to come back to ReliaQuest,” Velasco said. “This internship has shown me so much already about the workforce, and I even feel more prepared to go back to school in the fall.”
ReliaQuest interns will learn everything about the company and the problem we solve for our customers, but they will also learn about life skills and the mindset ReliaQuest uses to stay focused within the high-pressure cybersecurity field.
It’s impossible to predict what skills the cyber landscape will require of industry professionals in the future. ReliaQuest is proud to play a role in preparing students to step into this rapidly changing industry, and exciting new opportunities to come.
