ReliaQuest was founded in 2007 by a group of individuals with a wide range of talent and skill sets that recognized a gap in service in the Staffing and Recruiting Industry. On one side of the industry there are the continent/temp staffing firms that do little research and screening, mostly relying on job board recruiting, providing high volume results for reduced fees. On the opposite end are the retained search firms that are largely researched based. These firms partner with clients to assist in analyzing the needs of their clients and then go out in an attempt to find a compatible match. In return, these firms typically seek very high guaranteed fees and are relatively limited in the types of skill sets they recruit.
The founders of ReliaQuest realized that what was needed was a firm that could occupy the very large middle space between the two. ReliaQuest uses a researched based model across multiple skill sets in Information Technology, Engineering, Accounting & Finance and Operations with a fee structure that typically equals that of a lower value contingent search firm.
ReliaQuest was born during an alumni reunion at Florida State University when a group of alumni got together casually talking around a table in the middle of a room surrounded by other alumni. At first, the founders were just catching up and updating each other on what they were doing. These conversations quickly turned into a brainstorming session that went on into the early morning hours. In the end, the founders had filled up close to twenty cocktail napkins with ideas, opportunities, and best practices. One week later ReliaQuest was formed. Brian Murphy was appointed President and CEO and the rest is history.
